A marvelous excursion throughout Spain reveals the new faces of its old cathedrals, embellished by new lighting. Rising up before our eyes are artistic treasures whose medieval authors never dreamed their creations would ever be seen with such clarity.
This program presents seven examples of cathedrals of very different styles, illuminated thanks to an agreement between Spain’s Episcopal Conference and a private foundation. The cathedrals selected are not, in general, the most well-known, making this document quite innovative. It shines the spotlight on the Cathedrals of Astorga, Jaca, Seo de Urgel, Cordoba, Granada, Teruel and the newest of them all: the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid, only very recently finished.
